Wanda L. Benson

Wanda L. Benson, 94, passed away on November 5, 2023, in Mabank, Texas. She was born on February 13, 1929, in Pontiac, MI; to parents Earl and Martha (Dowdy) Giles.

Wanda's life was filled with rich experiences and cherished moments. One of her proudest accomplishments was marrying John in Ithaca, NY on July 11, 1953. Their union was a testament to their unwavering love and commitment to each other over the years. Wanda was a business owner of Metroplex Luggage Sales and Repairs; she was more than just an entrepreneur; she was a pillar of strength within her community. Her passion for her business was evident to all who entered Metroplex Luggage Sales and Repairs. With a warm smile and genuine care for her customers, Wanda built lasting relationships that extended far beyond business transactions. She dedicated herself to providing excellent service and ensuring that every customer felt valued and appreciated.

Beyond her successful marriage and career, Wanda had an array of hobbies and interests that brought her profound joy. Gardening allowed her to cultivate beauty, while cooking allowed her to share delicious meals with loved ones. Perhaps one of the most cherished aspects of Wanda's life was gathering with her family. These gatherings were filled with laughter, love, and cherished memories that will be treasured forever.

Wanda is preceded by her parents Earl and Martha (Dowdy) Giles, and brothers, Buddy and Bill Giles.

Benson of Gun Barrel City, TX; daughter, Barbara Seastrunk and husband Bruce of Clayton, OK; daughter, Susan Benson of Schertz, TX; daughter, Cathie Stringer and husband Dale of Forney, TX; son, Bruce Benson of Trinidad, TX; son, Chris Benson and wife Marietza of Ben Wheeler, TX; sisters, Wilma Sutherland, Nita Pippins, Diane Rowe, sister in law, Edith Giles, grandson, Seth Seastrunk and wife Angela, grandson, Caleb Seastrunk, grandson, Robert Warman, grandson, Richard Warman, grandson, Ryan Warman and wife Hayley, grandson, Dalton Stringer and wife Liz, grandson, Brandon Stringer and wife Hollie, grandson, Drew Benson and wife Alexis, granddaughter, Camerine Johnson and husband Robert, granddaughter, Anja Habib and husband Paul, granddaughter, Sarah Smith and husband Ben, 19 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
