Tom Henry DeShazo of Gun Barrel City, Texas entered into eternal rest on November 24, 2017 at the age of 84. He was born September 13, 1933 in Heath, Texas to John Walker & Mary Elizabeth DeShazo.
Tom has a sister; Shirley Faries and 2 brothers; John Walker DeShazo Jr., and George DeShazo. He was known as “Catfish Tom” around the Cedar Creek Lake community, and holds the lake record for the largest crappie. Mostly, Tom cherished fishing and spending time with his family and friends!
Tom is survived by his sister Shirley Faries, 3 children; daughter, Addie Penix & her husband Troy, daughter Bonnie DeShazo and son Tom DeShazo Jr., 8 grandchildren; Shellie Boles & her husband Josh, Clay Penix & his wife Angela, Cassie Kirkpatrick & her husband Matt, Chelsea Smith & her husband Lance, BJ Koonce, Levi Bivins, Tom Deshazo III & his wife Natalie and Justin Deshazo, 21 great-grandchildren; Cybil, Jake, Justyce, Hayden, Trace, Hunter, Regan, Liam, Macy, Beaux, Bailey, Ridge, Macy, Kaylen, Austin, Addie, Avral, Kendall, Brian, Tom IV (L.T.) and Lane and 1 great-great grandchild; Aiden. Tom has many other family members and a host of friends and of course his extended family at Sandy Shores. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers and his wife of 55 years Johnnie.
