Tomas Trevino

October 14, 1954 — January 10, 2021

Tomas “Tato” Trevino, 66, passed away on January 10, 2021.  He was born on October 14, 1954, in Bowling Green, OH, to Jacinto Guedalupe Trevino, Sr. and Amalia Olaya Cueller Trevino.

He joined the Navy in 1973 and served two tours in Vietnam.  Upon his return, he entered the apprenticeship of Plumbers and Pipefitters Union.  Tomas was a proud member of Local 100 for the past 26 years.  Tomas lived by a code that he was a family man, a Union man, and a God-fearing man.  He was a very active member of AmVets Post 23, along with being a member of the VFW and American Legion.  He focused on helping veterans, the elderly, and children.  Tomas dedicated his life to service, the Union, and his love of 27 years, Charline “Charley.”  Tomas and Charline’s later years were dedicated to “Pistoleros” Gunner Henry, their great-grandson.  Tomas lived every moment after Gunner’s arrival loving him and teaching him what it means to have fun, all while teaching him valuable life lessons.  Tomas would argue he was teaching Pistoleros, but Gunner was really teaching Tomas what pure joy and happiness is.  Tomas was outgoing, fun-loving, and at times a He.. raiser, but if he knew you needed it, he would give you the shirt off his back.  Even though his physical abilities faded, his mind and infectious spirit never wavered.  Tomas will be dearly missed, but we all find comfort in knowing he is watching over us.  Tomas, you bought many rounds for those around you. Today this round is for you.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Charline Trevino; his mother Amalia Frias; granddaughter Casey Swaggerty and fiance‘ Kyle Risien; great-grandson Gunner Boyd; brothers Jacinto Guedalupe Trevino, Jr. and wife Janie, Juan Trevino, Eddie Trevino, and Carlos Trevino; sisters Mary Anez and husband Rick and Patty Prince.

Tomas is preceded in death by his father; brothers Jesse Trevino and Jorge Trevino.

Bro. Ed Shauer with the First Church of the Nazarene in Gun Barrel City, Texas will officiate for the Trevino family.

Honorary pallbearers are Juan Trevino, Carlos Trevino, Rick Anez, Rick Anez, Jr., Frankie Smith and Ruben Diaz.
