Tim "Timmy" Light, age 63, of Garland, Texas, passed away on April 19, 2026. He was born in Glendale, California, on June 19, 1962, to parents Daniel and Barbara Light.
Timmy’s journey through life was marked by a strong dedication to both his craft and his family. Timmy was married to love of his life Vivian for 43 years. A proud graduate of Mesquite High School, he embarked on a career as a journeyman painter with the local 53 Union. His hard work and talent eventually led him to the successful ownership of his own business, which he ran for twenty-five years. Timmy concluded his professional career serving Dallas County, a testament to his commitment and work ethic.
Beyond his professional achievements, Timmy was known for a heart as big as his smile. Willing to do anything for anyone, he was the consummate goofball—always cracking jokes and determined to make everyone around him smile, no matter the circumstance. He never met a stranger, embracing life with open arms and an infectious spirit that drew people close.
Timmy’s greatest pride came from his family. Becoming a dad and PawPaw were moments that defined his heart and soul. He found endless joy in spending time with his children and grandchildren, affectionately crafting songs about them that filled their days with laughter and love. Whether fishing, camping, or playing with his dog Harley, Timmy’s hobbies reflected his deep appreciation for simple pleasures and treasured moments.
Timmy’s talents extended into woodworking, a hobby where his creativity and care came alive, reflecting the same patience and dedication he showed in all walks of life. As a football fan, watching the game was another of his joys, often sharing that passion with family and friends.
Those who knew him will hold dear the memories of Timmy’s jovial spirit and boundless kindness. His presence will be profoundly missed by many friends, family, and all who were lucky enough to cross his path.
Timmy is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Barbara Light, and brother, Daniel Light.
