Samuel Rodney Brown

Samuel Rodney Brown of Athens, Texas entered into eternal rest on July 11, 2017.  He was a loving father, grandfather and great friend to many.  He was born May 7, 1942 in Abilene, Texas to Willie Loy and Mamie Abi Jewell Brown.  He grew up with 1 brother; Beuran “Buddy” Brown & his  wife Faye and 2 sisters; Joyce Long and Peggy DuVall & her husband Harold.

Rodney was in the graduating class of 1959 at Abilene High School.  He worked as a master electrician for the City of  Houston.  There was never a job that he couldn’t do.  Rodney was blessed with 2 beautiful daughters; Barbette Brown & her husband Craig Sanders and Bronwyn “BJ” Massa & her husband Joe.  As Rodney would talk about his grandchildren, he always had a smile on his face.  Rodney has many other family members and a host of friends.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

In Rodney’s spare time he enjoyed working outdoors, restoring hot rods, telling corny jokes, and stories about the good o’l days, but mostly studying the Bible and sharing Jesus Christ with anyone who would listen.  Rodney truly cherished spending time with his family and friends.

Rodney is preceded in death by his parents.

Bro. Mugavero with the Household of God Home Church will be officiating for the Brown family.
