Rosa Marie McGuire

Rosa Marie McGuire, age 78, passed away on July 1, 2025, in Longview, Texas. She was born on August 11, 1946, in Dallas, Texas, to parents Charles and Florence (Chandler) Dailey.

Marie had a passion for fishing, often spending time by the water, where she found joy and peace. She was also known for her competitive nature, especially when it came to playing her favorite game, 10 Thousand, a pastime that brought family and friends together. Trips to Galveston and Pennsylvania with her little ones created lasting memories that would warm her heart for years to come.

Marie loved camping and spending time at the lake with her family, creating unforgettable moments under the sun. She had a unique way of making sun tea, which was a favorite in the warm months. Her love for crocheting was another creative outlet, allowing her to share handmade gifts with loved ones.

A memorable moment for Marie came at a Mother's Day family get-together when she earned the nickname "Paper Plate." A gust of wind caught a plate of food, landing it in her lap, bringing laughter to everyone around.

Marie was a beloved mother and grandmother, and she will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Maria is preceded in death by her father, Charles Dailey; mother, Florence Chandler; son, Corey August Diehl; brothers, John Dailey, Joseph Dailey, Roy Dailey, Lee Dailey, Jim Dailey, and Jack Dailey; sisters, Alta Beth Dailey, Helen Dailey, and Shirley Dailey; and her ex-husband, Wilbur Diehl, Sr.

Marie is survived by her son, Robert Dailey of Gladewater, Texas; son, Wilbur Diehl, Jr. of Gladewater, Texas; daughter, Pamela Fernandez and husband Patrick of Gun Barrel City, Texas; son, Samuel Paul Diehl and wife Christy of Auburndale, Florida; son, Dearl Diehl; son, Dean Diehl; granddaughter, Heather Diehl and spouse James; granddaughter, Jazmin Downs and spouse Jerred; granddaughter, Angelina Prestridge and spouse Alex; grandson, Wesley Diehl; great-granddaughter, Adalyn Nuss; and great-grandson Charles; as well and many more extended family members and friends.
