Rickey Lewis Ivie

January 9, 1953 — August 10, 2018

Rickey Lewis Ivie was born January 9, 1953 in Dallas, Texas.  He was the son of John Eugene and Beulah Florence Ivie.

Rick joined the United States Air Force in 1971.  He served in the Vietnam War and was a very proud American.  After serving our country Rick returned back stateside he spent time in Rhode Island working on nuclear submarines.  Once he got back home to Texas he worked as welder and hung big iron.

Some of his favorite things to do were listen to his music, welding, canoeing, ride in his boat and playing with the children in his life because he was still a child at heart.

He is preceded in death by his father John Eugene Ivie.

Rick is survived by his wife Cathy Clark Ivie; 6 siblings; and he was blessed with 3 daughters Bethany Lynn Petisce & her husband Christopher, their 3 children, Michelle Tardiff Blank & her husband Scott and Rachel Lynn Renaldo & her husband Jim.   He has 1 honorary daughter Richetta Bennett and her 3 children, and many special friends.

Bro. Ed Schauer with the Church of Nazarene in Gun Barrel City, Texas will officiate for the Ivie family.

In lieu of flowers, the Ivie family has asked that you please donate to one of these charities in Rick’s name.
