Richard Morris Jinkins, Sr.

Richard Morris Jinkins Sr. passed away on January 11, 2023, at the age of 68. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with bravery and a smile. Despite obstacles, Richard came out a hero and remained strong until the end. His loving heart left a beacon of light for all who love him.

Richard Jinkins was born on August 7, 1954, to parents Roy Jinkins Sr. and Helen Pierce in Dallas, Texas.

He gained a mastery in mechanics with his job after which he became a commercial driver in the trucking industry. He retired and spent his time doing what he loved, riding his Harley, driving his Corvette, and spending time with his family. He took to life with honesty and integrity. His legacy will carry on forever reminding us to live life without limitations.

Richard went on to have two children Bo and Christine and six grandchildren, Julian, Shawn, Jared, Haylee, Grady, and Tatum, with his first wife and lifelong friend Rhonda Jinkins. He later remarried Cynthia Jinkins and became a stepfather to Mitchell, Cody, Christopher, and Courtney and step-grandfather to Dayton, Rylie, Lexie, Breeze, Wade, Maddison, and Atticus.

Richard’s children and grandchildren brought him much joy. He enjoyed camping, traveling, hotrods, motorcycles, and anything with wheels, most of the time a combination of all the above. He loved without condition, spoke without intention, listened without judgment, cared without expectations, and he gave without a reason. He lived life at full throttle.

Richard Morris Jinkins, Sr. is survived by daughter Christine Tucker and son-in-law Jeremy Tucker, daughter in law Christi Jinkins, grandchildren Shawn Jinkins, Julian Hamilton, Haylee Greene, Grady Tucker, and Tatum Tucker, and great-grandchildren Ethan Jinkins and Nathan Jinkins. Brothers Roy Jinkins Jr., Brian Jinkins, and Steven Jinkins. Stepchildren Mitchell Morgan, Christopher Morgan, Cody Morgan, and Courtney Morgan. Step grandchildren Dayton Morgan, Rylie Morgan, Lexie Morgan, Breeze and Wade Morgan, Maddison Davis, and Atticus Jones. 

He is preceded in death by his wife Cynthia Jinkins, parents Helen Pierce and Roy Jinkins Sr., son Richard “Bo” Jinkins Jr., and grandson Jared Greene.
