Raymond Ross Haas

September 18, 1937 — October 31, 2020

Raymond Ross Haas, 83, passed away on October 31, 2020.  He was born on September 18, 1937, to Clifford Andrew and Zelpha May Haas.

He served in the US Navy for 22 years and retired as a Chief Petty Officer. He was also a Deep Sea Diver.  He served his country with pride, and his service sent him around the world.  He graduated from Southwest Baptist Theological Seminary, became an ordained minister, and pastored a church in Wolsey, SD.  He enjoyed his garden every year and was always busy working around his place.  He was a history buff and played beautiful music on his dobro.   He was strong and wise; he could fix anything; he was an amazing person.  He enjoyed the ocean and would have been content living on a houseboat.  He volunteered with The Texas Baptist Men involved in church planting and disaster relief.  More than anything, he loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and miniature horse Dottie.  He was loved by many and will be dearly missed; the world has lost an angel.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years Patricia Haas; daughters Ramona Porter and husband Marty, Renae Steelman and husband Dwight, Victoria Haas, Charlotte McNally, Leilani Triest and husband Tim, and Jasmine DeVore and husband Richard; grandchildren Talitha, Stephen, Henry, Ezekiel, Johnathan, Wendall, Bradley, Christopher, Spree, Badlands, Olen, and Coraline; great-grandchildren Chandler, Ethan, Emma W., Leah, Delilah, Hannah, Elizabeth, Bridger, Ellie, Emma C., and Grayson; sisters Alberta (Pete) Sweat, Helen Payne, Juneitta Kuhlmann, and Veradean Lewman.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son Clayton Wayne; brothers Frederick and Norman; sisters Waneita, Norma, and Darlene.
