Philip John Gibbs

August 15, 1948 — October 7, 2017

Philip John “Phil” Gibbs, of Mabank was born in Corsicana, TX. to the home of Donald Warren Gibbs and Hilah Jo Blankenship Gibbs on August 15, 1948 and was called to his eternal home October 7, 2017 at the age of 69.

Phil, a lifelong resident of Mabank, TX., proudly served his country during the Vietnam War, was president of the Bank Of Mabank, and a member of The First Baptist Church Of Mabank. He owned and operated P G Trucking, owned Mom’s Kitchen Café, drove the truck for the Mabank High School Band as a band booster member, a past member of various area civic    clubs and horseback riding clubs. He was active in community affairs as well as the annual Mabank Rodeo.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and wife Mary Ann Hyde Gibbs.

Left to cherish his memory are his children John Sullivan and his wife Deranda, Connie Gibbs York and her husband Justin, Matthew Daniel “Matt” Gibbs, brother Mike D. Gibbs and his wife Louise, sister Donna Jo Gibbs Mengel, four grandchildren Ava Grace Sullivan, Natalie Marie Toczik, James Neal York,  Harley Faith York, numerous other family members, his church family and many friends.

Rev. Brent Tucker with The First Baptist Church Of Mabank will be officiating for the Gibbs.

The family request memorial donations be made to the VFW, the Diabetes Foundation or the charity of your choice.
