Paul Vincent Montgomery

Paul Vincent Montgomery of Mabank, Texas passed away peacefully on August 24, 2017 in Tyler, Texas.  He was born May 18, 1934 in Little Rock, Arkansas to William Buford & Oakreta Alexander Montgomery.  Paul grew up with 3 brothers; Bill Montgomery, Harold Montgomery & Russell Montgomery and 2 sisters; Nora Pickett and Joann Morgan & her husband Jack.

Paul attended school in Little Rock, Arkansas.  Once he was out of school he worked for many years as a paint & wall paper contractor.  In 1950 Paul married a beautiful young lady, Yvonne.  The he and his bride moved to the Dallas area in 1951.  He had 2 children;  Peggy Brady & her husband Bradley, Russell Montgomery & his wife Linda.  Along the way he bought a little farm in Prairieville, although he and the family enjoyed the farm, it was time to down size; he sold the farm and moved to Mabank in 2006.  Paul always got joy when he visited his 3 grandchildren; Becky Dunn, Parker Brady & Cassidy Brady.  In his spare time he enjoyed a great game of golf and talking about the good o’l days.  Mostly Paul enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  Paul was a great man and a friend to many.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Yvonne and, 2 of his brothers; Harold Montgomery and Russell Montgomery.

Pastor Ed Schauer with the Church of the Nazarene in Gun Barrel City, Texas will be officiating for the Montgomery family.
