Patricia Helen Goad, age 80, passed away on June 26, 2025, in Jacksonville, Texas. She was born on December 17, 1944, in Arlington, Texas to parents Delbert Cecil and Ida Mae (Hadley) Sanders.
Patricia absolutely loved to reminisce and to chit chat with friends and family, it was her favorite thing to do. There wasn't a gathering where she wouldn't share a funny story that would have everyone laughing. Her wit and good sense of humor made her a joy to be around, and it was clear that she had a knack for making everyone feel at ease. She dedicated herself to her family, always being a great listener and being there whenever they needed support.
In addition to her warm personality, Patricia was a wonderful painter and a crafty soul, often found making yard decor or sewing masterpieces as a skillful seamstress. Patricia had a knack for collecting antiques and had a particular fondness for "all things old." She also enjoyed being a vendor at events like First Monday, where her creations would bring smiles to others. Patricia also loved to shop and really enjoyed a good restaurant.
A devoted Baptist, Patricia’s faith played a significant role in her life, guiding her through both challenges and joys. Lovingly called “Our Angel” by her family, it often seemed Patricia had a direct line to God when she wanted or needed something in her life.
In her neighborhood, Patricia was affectionately called the Turtle Lady. She cared for at least 30 turtles in her pond, who would eagerly greet her with enthusiasm when they heard her coming down the stairs to feed them.
One of her proudest accomplishments was serving as Ginger's cheerleading coach in middle school, where she received a plaque in recognition of her excellence in coaching, showcasing her dedication to nurturing young talent.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a charitable donation be made in Patricia’s name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
