Nancy L. Shope, age 71, passed away on May 17, 2025, in Tool, Texas. She was born on October 29, 1953, in Rochester, Pennsylvania to parents James and Violet (Winterbauer) Chatterly.

Nancy attending Hopewell High School, completing her education up to the tenth grade. Among her proudest accomplishments were the births of her two daughters and marrying the love of her life, Ron.

Nancy was a vibrant and outgoing person who touched the lives of many during her time with us. Nancy worked in various industries throughout her career, but her favorite was "Friendly Home Parties."

Nancy cherished spending time with her family, often creating lasting memories during spur-of-the-moment road trips. Her home was known for being a wonderful gathering place, especially during holiday seasons, with New Year's Eve holding a special place in her heart. She had a fondness for bingo, enjoying games both out and at home with loved ones, and she loved preparing delicious meals and holiday candies to share with her family.

Aside from being an excellent cook and baker, Nancy always took the time to craft blankets for her grandbabies, ensuring they felt loved and cared for. She loved family gatherings more than anything. Her personality was truly a blessing to all who knew her; she was headstrong yet loving, caring, and even served as a peacemaker among family and friends.

Family gatherings were a hallmark of her life, and no one would forget the exciting times spent at her favorite spot, Conneaut Lake Park.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, James Chatterly and Violet Winterbauer; stepfather, Edward “Fritz” Winterbauer; brother, James Chatterly (JC), and other loved ones gone before her.

Nancy is survived by, her husband, Ronald Shope of Tool, Texas; daughter, Cathy Noss and husband Ken of Payne Springs, Texas; daughter, Carla Hawk and husband Michael Lee of Hooks, Texas; granddaughter, Cathy Mancillas and husband Romeo of Hooks, Texas; grandson, Mark Hawk and wife Jessica of Seven Points, Texas; grandson, Doug Hawk of Florida; grandson, Michael Lee II of Kemp, Texas; great-grandson, Mason Hawk of Mabank, Texas; great-grandson, Matthew Bice of Mabank, Texas; great-grandson, Michael Lee III of Kemp, Texas; great-grandson, James Hawk of Seven Points, Texas; brother, Edward Winterbauer and wife Nanette of Ambridge, Pennsylvania; siter, Ramona Sparber and husband Charles of Imperial; nephew, Jared Winterbauer and wife Tori of Weirton, West Virginia; as well as numerous other family, friends, and loved ones.
