Mona Marie Cullum

January 18, 1955 — March 1, 2022

Mona Marie Cullum, 67, passed away on March 1, 2022.  She was born on January 18, 1955, in Van Zandt County, Texas, to parents Marlin Ray Martin and Joanne Baker Martin.

Mona was considered by many to be an eccentric woman who loved to laugh.  She was also never afraid to speak her mind.  Mona loved traveling, dancing, reading her Bible, and tanning.  Her favorite places to be were Galveston, Turner Falls, and Glen Rose.  In her younger years, Mona would eagerly host parties and cookouts and was considered “the fun mom” of the neighborhood.  She enjoyed playing pranks and not taking life too seriously.  Mona had an amazing “green thumb.”  She always had standing and hanging plants in the house and maintained a beautiful yard.  Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the highlights of her life.  Due to her love of dancing, Mona taught all of her grandchildren how to two-step by the time they could walk.  Nobody made her laugh the way her grandchildren could.

Although Mona left this world far too soon, God had her mansion ready.  She is fully healed and reunited with her hero and most favorite person, her daddy.  She is now able to dance without pain and smell all the beautiful yellow roses around her.  She will forever be missed.

She is survived by her children Roger Cullum, Jr. and wife Rita, Brandie Gage, Angela Nix, and Ashley Manley; grandchildren Brandon Gage, Matthew Gage, Jayden Vasquez, Isabella Case, Sarah Manley, Kacie Manley, Jordan Manley, Bailey Cullum, Ethan Cullum, Kaitlyn Richardson, Kegan Richardson, Gabriel Cullum, Hayden Bell, Phoenix Runyon, Kai Nix, Sabre Nix, and Theodore Nix; great-grandchildren Kayden Gage and Braylynn Gage; brother Marlin Ray Martin II and wife Linda; sister Jennifer Martin.

Mona is preceded in death by her parents.
