Mitchell Mark Orr

October 3, 1954 — February 4, 2021

Mitchell Mark Orr was born to O.B. and Nona Orr Oct. 3, 1954 in San Angelo.


He was diagnosed with Polio at nine months of age and lived with one leg compromised and he always introduced himself as the Crippled Cowboy. He attended Reagan County High School, Big Lake, where he qualified in the Texas State championship in golf his senior year.
Mitchell loved his first job as a disk jockey for the Big Lake radio station. He was an avid golfer his entire life. He attended San Angelo State University in San Angelo. He pioneered re-entry of wells in the oil and gas industry and was active in that industry until his death Feb. 4, 2021.
Mitchell achieved his life long dream of walking without pain and assistance with his hip replacement Feb. 3, 2020. He acknowledged Jesus as his savior and now rests under the wings of God in Heaven in his new body.


Mitchell is survived by his mother and her husband Robert, sister Carrie Orr Carpenter and her husband Larry, brother James Orr, children Shane Orr, Shelby Orr and her husband Micah Yarbrough and Robert Orr, grandchildren Robert Orr and Heather Orr and niece McKenna Orr.
