Michael Ray Shinn of Gun Barrel City, Texas passed away on September 18, 2017 in Athens, Texas. He was born August 22, 1961 in Ft. Worth, Texas to Kennith & Jeanne Clark Shinn.
Michael attended elementary school in Canton and graduated from Bandera High School in 1979. For the last 17 years he was the manager at the Gun Barrel City Kwik Kar Lube & Tune. Not only his co-workers but his customer’s enjoyed a cup of coffee and conversation with Michael. He was blessed with 5 children; Sherri Shinn, Meslisa Newell, Corey Patrick, Crystal Carver and Kadie Burge. He cherished spending time with his 8 grandkids; Evan, River, James, Tyler, Lexi, Brooklyn, Haley and Maya. Michael met and married his true love Kerry 14 years ago. In Michael’s spare time he enjoyed listening to music and playing his guitar. But mostly, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a wonderful son, dad, grandfather and a dear friend to many. Michael will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Michael is preceded in death by his father and his son Timmy Larkin.
Bro. Ed Schauer with Church of the Nazarene in Gun Barrel City, Texas will be officiating for the Shinn family.
