Michael Lee Wertz

Michael Lee Wertz, 71, passed away on January 20, 2020.  He was born on August 12, 1948, in Dallas, Texas, to the home of James Walker and JoAnn Cotton Wertz.

He was the owner/operator of his family’s second-generation business.  PBS was in operation for 55 years.  He was Commander of the Power Squadron teaching boating and navigation courses.  Michael was a member and Deacon of  Harbor Baptist Church in Payne Springs, Texas.  One of his passions through the church was taking part in disaster relief.  In his leisure time, he worked trigonometry problems as a hobby and for relaxation, fished, but most of all, enjoyed spending time with family, especially his beloved grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years Flossie; children Teffiny Wertz, Kimberly Bryant and husband Tracy, James Wertz and wife Rhonda, and Roger Foster and wife Lacey; grandchildren Zachary Odom, Chaz Odom, Justin Wertz, Dylan Wertz, Ryleigh Compton, Byron Foster, and Aislin Foster; great-grandchildren Bentlee Ryan Odom, Kaylee Grace Odom, William Aguado, and Carmen Elaine Wertz; sisters Suzanne Halwas, Donna House and husband Charles, and Beverly Wertz; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.  Michael will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents Jim and Jo, son Roy Lee Dean Mitchell, and daughter Laura Lee Lacy.
