Michael Dwayne Cannada, age 67, of Kemp, Texas, passed away on August 17, 2026. He was born in Dallas, Texas, on July 11, 1959, to Herbert and Dorothy (Inmon) Cannada.
After graduating from high school, Michael opened his first Mike’s Muffler in Mabank, Texas, more than 50 years ago. His hard work, determination, and easygoing nature made him a familiar and much-loved face in the community.
Michael was truly the life of the party. He was kind, generous, and never pretentious. He had a way of making people feel welcome, and his smile could brighten any room. Those who knew Michael will remember most of all his kindness and the way he treated others.
Michael enjoyed a life full of fun, adventure, and good friends. He looked forward to hunting trips to West Texas, spending time with friends at Kings Creek Golf Course, and playing pool, including a memorable trip to Las Vegas with friends. Michael loved barefoot skiing, bowling, drag racing, and karaoke. He was happiest when he was surrounded by people, laughing, telling stories, and making memories.
Michael is survived by his wife, Carey Ann Cannada of Kemp, Texas; daughter, Michon Cannada of Galveston, Texas; daughter, Julia Jean Cannada of Dallas, Texas; step-daughter, Tiffany Blaase of Easly, South Carolina; step-daughter, Stephanie Blaase Trammell of Kemp, Texas; step-daughter, Rhonda Blaase of Gun Barrel City, Texas; grandson, Ricky Depolo of Dallas, Texas; granddaughter, Evelyn Trammell of Kemp, Texas; grandson, Atlas Ridge Blaase Proper of Gun Barrel City, Texas; granddaughter, Alyssa Trammell of Kemp, Texas; granddaughter, Aubree Trammell of Kemp, Texas; son-in-law, Robert Trammell of Kemp, Texas; son-in-law, Matt Proper of Gun Barrel City, Texas; brother, James Cannada of Canton, Texas; nephew, Patch Moutton of Canton, Texas; niece, Melonie Cannada of Maumelle, Arkansas; as well as numerous family, friends, and loved ones.
