Mendy "Lisa" Lynn Hernandez

Mendy "Lisa" Lynn Hernandez, 66, passed away on July 22, 2024, at her home in Dallas, Texas. She was born on August 24, 1957, in Dallas, Texas. She is now with her beloved grandparents who raised her, Gussie and Laura Flowers, and her beloved son, Stacy.

Lynn was born at Methodist Hospital in Oak Cliff on August 24, 1957. She spent most of her childhood living in Pleasant Grove up until the age of 10. She was then reunited with her birth mother, June LaFaye Flowers and stepfather, Billy Patterson in Mabank, Texas for about 1 year before deciding that country-style living was not for her.

Lynn was an apartment manager for 30 years in Oak Cliff, where she eventually settled. She helped many families and friends in more ways than you can imagine.

Lynn loved to celebrate holidays in her own traditional style. She absolutely loved her chocolate milk and Milky Way candy bars. There wasn’t a weekend that didn’t go by that she didn’t enjoy cruising around the city and listening to her favorite music. Lynn attended every wedding and quince she could, she was the life of the party.

Lynn was a good listener, gentle and soft-spoken, and accepted people for who they were. She was a one in a million kind of woman, and she will be missed by all those whose lives she touched.

Lynn’s family asks that you bring her favorite flowers, red and white roses.

Mendy is preceded in death by her son, Stacy Mendoza; mother, June LaFaye (Flowers) Patterson; stepfather, Billy Patterson; grandparents, Gussie and Laura Flowers; as well as many loving aunts, and uncles of the Flowers family.

Mendy is survived by her daughter, Augustina Lynn Mendoza; and children, Juan Vargas; Stephanie Lynn Vargas; Willam N. Melo; daughter, Melissa P. Mendoza; and son, Usiel Jauregui; son, Carlos Hernandez and son, Carlos Hernandez II; daughter, Candace Hernandez; and children, Angel Ayala; Priscillia Medina; Michael Bear-heels; Elijah Bear-heels; Aaliah Hernandez; sister, Laura Faye Shores and husband Gregg; brother, Billy Patterson; as well as many other family, friends, and loved ones.
