Maxine M. Morrow was born to John and Ira (Wilhoit) Vandergriff on March 4, 1933, in Haslet, TX.  Maxine passed away on April 27, 2023, in Malakoff, Texas.

Maxine loved scary movies and soap operas and had a passion for cooking. She worked as a cook in a restaurant, where she used her culinary skills to create delicious meals that brought joy to others. She was also a Sunday School teacher at the Church of God in Denton, TX. Her kindness and patience helped many young people grow in their faith.

Maxine's compassion helped countless individuals regain their independence and confidence while working in a nursing home. Her hard work made a positive impact on people's lives every day. Later in life she retired as a restoration specialist from Dallas/Irving, TX. Her family was incredibly proud of all she had accomplished throughout her life.

Maxine is survived by son, Weldon Hilliard of Athens, TX; son, Donnie Hilliard of Hutchins, TX; daughter, Tammy Riggall, grandson, James Hilliard and Angela of Log Cabin, TX; granddaughter, Cindy Taylor of Sanger, TX; granddaughter, Tassie Stephens of Burleson, TX; grandson Michael S. Hilliard and Amy of Lowndesboro, AL; grandson Christopher Hilliard and  Wynonna of Baltimore, MD; granddaughter, Sheree Aurand and Timothy of Millerstown, PA; grandson, Brian Koen and Eric of College Park, Md; grandson, Justin Morrow, grandson, Adam Morrow of Tyler, TX; grandson, Gage Riggall of Mabank, TX; great-granddaughter, Kelsi Hilliard of Tyler, TX; great-granddaughter, Alyssa Hilliard of Log Cabin, TX; great-grandson, Ethan Hilliard of Log Cabin, TX; great-granddaughter, Jade Hilliard of Baltimore, MD; great-grandson, Landon Hilliard of Baltimore, MD; great-granddaughter, Nevaeh Schvindt of Millerstown, PA; great-grandson Andrew Aurand of Millerstown, PA; great-grandson, Bentley Aurand of Millerstown, PA; great-grandson, Noah Aurand of Millerstown, PA; great-granddaughter, Gracie Taylor of Sanger, TX; great-grandson, Colten Taylor of Sanger, TX; great-granddaughter. Finley Hilliard of Lowndesboro, AL; great-grandson, Kevin McCoy of Ft. Worth, TX; great-grandson, Hunter McCoy of Ft. Worth, TX; great-grandson, Paxton Morrow of Mansfield, TX; great-grandson, Jaxson Riggall of Mabank, TX; great-great-grandson, Edison Tuttle of Tyler, TX; sister, Jeannie Belle Owens of Denton, TX; sister, Betty Jo Owens of Denton, TX; 5 nieces, 4 nephews, and many other loved ones.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents John and Ira Vandergriff; brother, Pete; sister, Ruthie Foster; son, Ronnie Hilliard; and son, Michael Hilliard.

The visitation will be held at the Moorhead Funeral Home in Gun Barrel City, TX, on May 4, 2023, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. A funeral service will follow at the same location starting at 2 p.m. Immediately following the service there will be a graveside service held at the Eubank Cedar Creek Memorial Park in Mabank, TX.
