Mathew Mayan Chatterly

Mathew Mayan Chatterly was born on November 9, 1984, in Athens, Texas, and received his angel wings on August 18, 2020, at the age of 35.

Mathew was a caring young man whose love for his savior, Jesus Christ, grew stronger every day.  He was fun loving and enjoyed pulling pranks on everyone who came his way.  He was a 2006 graduate of Mabank High School where he was a Sophomore Student of the Month.  At school he excelled in the vocational and life skills classes.  He was a member on the Panther football teams at several levels.  Mathew was a Special Olympics athlete, participating in bowling, track, and was on one of the teams that played teams from Mexico in the first international tournament in South Texas.  Mathew "Macho Man's" happy and loving spirit touched the hearts of many.  He was a very special son, grandson, brother, uncle, and friend.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents Mark and Frances Chatterly; sisters Elaycia Jones and husband Joshua, Amanda Brewer and partner Zach Kennedy, and Morgan Chatterly and partner Jessi Law; grandmothers Ruby Chatterly and Lou Jean Barina; nephews Jack Andrews, Clint Oliver, Jr., and Jaxx Law; nieces Cloèaonnah Brewer, Destany Brewer, and Megan Oliver; and biological father Mark Elphingstone.

Mathew is preceded in death by his grandfathers Frank Barina and James Chatterly.
