Mary Jo Crawford

Mary Jo Crawford (nee Randolph), age 90, went to be with the Lord on December 12, 2025, in Eustace, Texas.

Mary Jo was born September 12, 1935, in Dallas, Texas to Archie Edgar Randolph and Jenny Mae Crow. She was raised in Dallas, Texas, alongside her older brother, Windle Randolph. From an early age, she was known  for her diligence and strong work ethic, While she in High School, she began working as a switchboard operator at Southwester Belle Telephone Company in the afternoons after school - an early start to a long career.

In 1957, Mary Jo married Prentice Crawford. Together the welcomed their son, Kent Crawford, in 1962. Mary Jo remained with Southwestern Bell throughout decades of change in the telecommunications industry, retiring early after a devoted career with the company, latter known as AT&T.

Mary Jo found joy in tending her garden and was especially known among family for her wonderful pecan pie. She and her husband Prentice enjoyed their long retirement, spending much time with their grandson and traveling extensively with him to many beautiful places, from Canadian Rockies to Yellowstone, and Europe. She was active in her local Baptist Church in Fort Worth and her faith was very important to her.

Mary Jo is preceded in death by brother, Windle Randolph, in 2015; her husband, Prentice Crawford, in January 2019, and her beloveds son, Kent Crawford, in December 2019.

Mary Jo is survived by her grandson, Chris Crawford of Iowa City, Iowa; her former daughter-in-law and long time caretaker, VIcki Haas of Eustace, Texas, whose care and devotion were deeply appreciated; niece, Wendy Harder of Lubbock, Texas; cousins, Nannie Wileman of Forney, Texas; an Virginia of May Pearl, Texas; as well as other family, and friends.

Mary Jo will be remembered for her perseverance, generosity, her loyalty to family, and the quiet ways she showed care throughout her life. Her memory lives on in those who loved her and were shaped by her presence.
