Kathleen McVay

Ruth Kathleen McVay, 82, passed away on January 20, 2023, in Tyler, TX. She was born on July 8, 1940, to parents Herbert and Ethel (Florence) McNinch, in Bakersfield, CA.

Kathleen had many hobbies and talents, she liked to ride horses, play tennis, fishing, and enjoyed her community. Kathleen volunteered in Colorado for the Sheriff's Department in the Sheriff Posse, working in dispatch, special events, traffic accidents, and search and rescue. She also worked for the Northeast Teller Fire District in the Fire Corps, assisting in fire mediation and forest fire assistance. Kathleen last worked for Hunt Oil Co., in Dallas as a title analyst. She loved watching the cowboys game with her cat Tiny. Kathleen had an art group, and she was very fond of the members as well as her friends. More than all these things, Kathleen loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by the family she has left behind.

Kathleen is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Ethel McNinch; sisters, Mary Ann and Alice; and brothers, Herb and David.

Kathleen is survived by her husband, Sam H. McVay, of Enchanted Oaks, TX; daughters, Allyson Krugh, of California, Jennifer Krugh of Texas, and Sherri McVay of Texas; sons, Patrick Krugh of Arizona, David McVay of Texas, and numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
