Judy Braswell

Judy Gayle Braswell, 73 of Gun Barrel City, entered the presence of her Lord and Savior November 2015. Judy was born in Tyler, Texas in November of 1941. She was the daughter of Clayton and Edna Browning and sister to Jim Browning, all of whom she met with open arms this week. She is survived by her best friend and husband of 55 plus years, Jim Braswell. Her mother-in-law and best friend Leslie Jo Lowe, 92 years young. Her children: Susan and Johnny McCulloch, Kathi Braswell and Angie and Chuck Colbert. Her grandchildren: Meaghan and Melissa McCulloch, Erin Richardson, Kelly and Carli Colbert and her two great grand babies, Nora Grace and John Patrick Connelly. Brother-in-Law, Joey Lowe and wife Vicki and sister-in-law, Jan Phillips and husband Jody. Nieces and Nephews: Kari and Cody Nelson, Karl, Panda, Kory and Kolton Browning, Ashlee Kevin Lowe and Joseph Phillips Judy was a graduate of John Tyler High School where she was a national honor society scholar , Blue Brigade majorette , and voted most beautiful of her senior year. She attended Tyler Jr. College, where she was a member of the Nationally acclaimed Apache Belle drill team. Working together, Judy and Jim started their own company, Braswell & Associates, in 1978. Judy was an instrumental part of the success of this business until her retirement. She LOVED music, flowers, cooking, gardening, chirping birds in her back yard, fishing, Maui, painting, traveling and most of all spending time with family and friends. She was an inspiration to everyone she met. She was a board member at the Cedar Creek Library, member of the Gun Barrel City Beautification Committee, member of the Cedar Creek Arts society, member of the Kiwanis Club and a volunteer for the Mabank Toys for Tots. She will be remembered for her sweet smile, huge heart, joy for life, positive spirit and love for her family. The memorial service will be November 14th at 2pm at the First Baptist Church in Gun Barrel City. Immediately following we will have a birthday celebration in Judy's honor at the Cedar Creek Country Club in Kemp, Texas.
