Josh spent 12 years in school and was a good student who always enjoyed learning. He even played football in middle school, showing off that competitive spirit of his. There was never a dull moment when Josh was around, especially when he got the chance of a lifetime—like when his mom, lovingly known as “Mumsy,” entered him into a contest that won him tickets to a Cowboys vs. Eagles game. Just picture it: Josh was able to meet Danny White, the quarterback as well as the whole team, Josh received a signed jersey, game ball, and even got a jacket with all those legendary signatures.
Josh was always aiming high, with plans to be a plumber after training as a plumber’s helper. His dedication showed through everything he did, from volunteering at the fire department during his teenage years to spending quality time with his beloved brother Mike, who was his inspiration and partner-in-fun. Rumor has it, if Mike was doing it, you could bet Josh wanted to be right there beside him, ready to join in.
When it came to family he was known for his generous hugs, his affectionate nature and kind heart. Josh was given a nickname “VAVOOM” from his aunt Gail at a young age. He held deep respect and love for his dad, Ronnie L. Key, but nothing could compare to his love for his little boy, James. They created many memories riding bikes at the park, watching cartoons, and belting out country tunes on car rides. Josh found joy in the simple moments. Fishing trips and car rides were all opportunities to bond and create special memories. Plus, being there for James during huge milestones, like watching him be born and celebrating his high school graduation, brought him immense pride.
Josh was one of a kind—a loving son, brother, father, and friend who brightened the lives of so many. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
