John Alfred Koller

July 9, 1937 — January 7, 2019

John Alfred Koller, 81 of Gun Barrel City, Texas passed away in his home on January 7, 2019 surrounded by his family.  John was born in Dallas, Texas on July 9, 1937.  John married  the love of his life Wanda Koller on May 7, 1970.  They were married 48 years.

John was loyal to and loved his country.  He proudly served 14 years in the United States Navy.  After the Navy, John was employed with Dal-Tile for many years.  He later become a    Master Electrician and opened is own business.  He was a passionate Christian who served the Lord by singing and playing guitar at his church home, Main Street Pentecostal, where he was a member for many years.

John was a light-hearted man who loved his God, family, Country, and the Dallas Cowboys. Prior to suffering from a stroke in 2005 you could find John playing dominos, tinkering in the garage, fishing and wrestling with his grandchildren or embellishing in stories about his time in the service.  John will be remembered by his loved ones as “BIG BAD JOHN”.

John is survived by his spouse, Wanda Koller, and Children,  Marcy Reppenhagen, Charlotte and husband Jimmy Poston, Jimmy lee and wife Debbie Metcalf, Karen and husband Doug Hobbs, and a multitude of grand and great-grandchildren.

John was preceded in death by his parents Ed and Cody Koller, his brothers Andy, Charles and Jim, his sisters Mary and Trudie and his daughters Georgette Jordan and Patricia Kay Baker.
