Jason Ray Scott

August 20, 1976 — June 27, 2017

Jason Ray Scott, also known as “Honey” passed away from colon cancer and went home to be with his Lord and Savior on June 27, 2017 at 2:45 p.m.  He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend to many.  Jason was born August 20, 1976 in Athens, Texas.  He grew up in a large loving family here in the Mabank area.  Jason is survived by his loving wife, Leslie Scott, and beautiful daughter, Lauren Scott.  Jason’s father Terry Scott and his wife Judith.  Jason’s mother Suzan Scott and her husband Lance Vernon.  Jason's younger sisters: Jessica Scott and Jennifer Scott and her husband Edward Salgado.  Jason's five bothers: Chris George, Jeremy George, Lawrence De-Cottin, Nicholas Alcala and Alister Alcala.  Also, Jason's grandmother, Sylvia Cornish.  Jason has many other family members and a host of friends.

Jason married the love of his life, Leslie, 17 years ago and together they were blessed with a beautiful daughter, Lauren.  Jason had a very profound impact upon his family and friends and he loved them dearly.  He cherished everyone with all his heart and loved to make everyone laugh.  Jason may have been 40 years old but he was a big kid at heart. Jason loved his toys - RC cars, drones, mountain bikes, dirt bikes, target practice, and teaching Lauren how to shoot and fish and just be a kid.  Jason was an overall smart, funny, kind and good guy; and at times a pain in the rear but he still made you love him.  Jason will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Jason is preceded in death by his Grandparents JR and Jenna Scott and Walter Cornish.

Pastor Larry Reneau with the Clearview Bible Church in Canton, Texas along with Brother Rick Wyatt and Brother Ronnie Emola will be officiating the service for the Scott Family.
