James Calvin Adams

November 7, 1953 — May 10, 2017

James (Jimmy) Calvin Adams of Kemp, Texas passed away peacefully with his loved ones at his side on May 10, 2017.  He was born November 7, 1953 in San Antonio, Texas to Ben Warren & Ann McDonald Adams.  He grew in Rogers, Texas living with his grandparents and two brothers; Donnie Adams and Sammy Adams.

Jimmy was in the 1972 graduating class of Rogers High School.  Jimmy worked all his life in the construction.  The last 30 years he worked for Freeman Decorating.  He married his love Sue on May 25, 1991.  She has three children, he always enjoyed being a part of their lives; John Wesley Simpson, Jeffery Wayne Simpson & Kimberly Susan Davis.  Seeing their grandchildren; Adam Wesley Simpson, Brandon Lee Davis & Melinda Regan and spending time with their 4 great-grandchildren always made his day.  Jimmy has many other family members and a host of friends who loved him; he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

In his spare he loved to rodeo and work with farm animals.  Jimmy was well known in the community for his leatherwork and his famous BBQ brisket.  Jimmy loved to watch the Dallas Cowboys, NASCAR and rodeos.  But mostly he cherished spending time with his beloved family and friends.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Sammy Adams.

Bro. Gene Samford with Church of Christ of Kemp Texas will be officiating for the Adams family.
