Harvey Lee Hogue passed away at 9:30 am on Thursday, June 10, 2021, at Kemp Care Center, Kemp, Texas, where he resided in his later years.
Mr. Hogue was referred to by his close friends and family as Harvey or H. Lee. He was born November 24, 1930, to Anthony Lee Hogue and Effie Mae (Neel) Hogue of Eunice, New Mexico. He was a graduate of Eunice High School. After graduation, Harvey worked at the Ben Franklin store in Eunice, NM of which his dad, Anthony, opened, owned and managed. For a short time afterward, Harvey was a truck driver. Later, Harvey worked in the oilfield industry as a derrickman until he was disabled from an oilfield-related injury and retired. He lived in Athens, Texas, from 1967 until he and his wife moved to and resided at the Kemp Care Center in Kemp, Texas until their passing. Harvey and his wife Margery had six children together.
Mr. Hogue is preceded in death by his wife, Margery Kathlene (Maynard) Hogue; his parents Anthony Hogue and Effie Mae (Neel) Hogue, his step-mom Exa Hogue, his sons-in-laws Roger Mayfield and Wayne Dudley, a granddaughter Laurie Christine, and a great grandson Bryson Lane. He is survived by a son, Tony LLoyd Hogue and wife Shirley of Kemp, Texas; five daughters, Trina Leah (Hogue) Evans and husband Wayne of Bryan, Texas; Teresa LaDell Dudley of Glenn Heights, Texas; Lisa DaNell Mayfield of Athens, Texas; Sheila Janiece Malcom and husband Carl of Lubbock, Texas; and Shirley Deniece Hill of Kemp Texas; numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and one great-granddaughter on the way.
