Harmon Michael Brown

d. May 27, 2019

Harmon Michael Brown passed away on Memorial Day, May 27, 2019, which was fitting as he was a Patriot.  He served in the Army from 1964–1972.  Harmon was a Vietnam Era Veteran.  His name is on the Veterans Wall in Mabank, TX.  He was a member of the American Legion Post 310.  He was a Trump fan.

Harmon was born in Buffalo, NY.  He loved everything Texan  and moved to Texas as soon as he could.  He was one of 4  children born to Helen and Gordon Brown.  He was heartbroken when his sister Dodie passed away.  He grew up extremely poor.  His father was ill and died young.  Harmon  was blind in one eye but managed school and a job at age 12 to help pay bills.  He took printing in school and stayed in the trade until 2003.

As a child he was in a play for United Nations Day.  He was assigned China.  So this 6 year old dressed up as a Chinaman and spoke his idea of Chinese much to his mother's embarrassment for months.

Harmon was a die hard Dallas Cowboy Fan.  He shared this passion with wife Sandi; friends Yvie, Wayne, Jennifer, Paul  Westmoreland and Suzy.  He tried to turn everyone into a fan.  No matter what their team, he sent them Cowboy stuff just to see what they would do.  He was glad when the Cowboys became their second favorite team.  He took that as a success.

Harmon was married to his soulmate and love of his life Sandi for 38 years.  He also had a best buddy Tommy who he shared lots of laughs.  His father-in-law Charlie was a dad to him.  They did everything together.  He was shy but was loved by people who knew him.  If you only had one word to describe him it would be kind.

He had a brief marriage when he was young and had three daughters, twins Andrea & Michele and then Yvonne.  Harmon loved his fur babies.  He and Sandi fed feral cats and many dogs.  He also loved monkeys.  His favorite charity was Friends of the Animals.  Harmon was artistic and won many awards for his work.  He did animals and Chinese designs.

Harmon is survived by wife Sandi; daughters Andrea & husband Donnie, and Yvonne; grandchildren Stephen & wife Anastasia, Rose, Alexandria & husband Cole, Michael & wife Shalimar; sister-in-laws Suzy & husband Al, Destinie & husband Ricardo; nephews and nieces Roman David & wife Yukie, Tiffany, William, Jennifer, Joey and Christian, Wayne, Darcy, Paul, Chad and their families; special cousins Kathleen and Bryan; family in his heart Tommy Torre, the Eames family, the Cervanys, and the Stealeys.

Harmon is preceded in death by his parents Helen and Gordon Brown; baby Michele; sister Dodie, and his and Sandi's fur babies; dad Charlie  Bjerke; mother-in-law Betty Peterson; Auntie Etta; Jerry Bjerke and Cynthia Castor.

Harmon thanks his wonderful neighbors and friends Dana, Gene, Evelyn, Bill, Carol, Jason, Paula, Sunshine, Buck & Ben, and Larry.  Thank you Kris & Mike; friends for many years Marie & Gene, and his Walmart friends.
