Guy Wellington Jefferson

April 13, 1936 — June 23, 2019

Guy Jefferson passed away unexpectedly and has left behind a heartbroken family to cherish his memories.

We are only comforted with the belief that Guy is reunited with his wife Sally who passed away on September 30, 2018. He was trying his best to enjoy life without his wife of 65 years.

Guy is survived by a loving family that is desperately trying to cope with his sudden passing. Daughter Deborah and husband Gale, Son Edward and wife Renae, Son Douglas and wife Tammy, Jay Story and wife Lori.
Son Kevin W. Jefferson passed away at just two days old in 1959.

Grandchildren Tanya Jefferson Cooper and husband Walt, Susann Johnson and husband Todd, Guy Jefferson and wife Stormy, Colin Jefferson and wife Maggie. Special Grandson Galen Macziewski who spent so much time with his Grandfather since Sally passed away, and did everything for him on a daily basis, Jessica Story, Lauren Story and his newly claimed Grandson, Bret Boettigheimer.

Granddaughter Courtney Jefferson passed away before birth over 30 years ago.

Great Grandchildren Jacquelyn and James Kennedy, Alec Cooper (Taylor Weeks), Todd Allan Johnson Jr., Meadow Jefferson, Robby Story, Guy Nathan Jefferson, Kylar Whiddon, Willow Jefferson, Ian Jefferson, Ellison Jefferson, and newborn Wells Jefferson, named after Guy’s middle name.

Guy was so very proud of the family members named after him.

He also leaves behind his dear Sister Maria whom he recently had the opportunity to see after more than a decade. Their reunion will be a cherished memory for all of us.
He has a brother George and wife Chris.

He is survived by his wife Sally’s family in Buffalo New York, Peggy and Hank, Sandy and Tom, Nancy and Richard, Lori and Mike and Judy and George.  Judy and Sally were reunited in Heaven on September 30, 2018 when Sally left this earth to join her dear sister and their parents Frecks and Lolly.

He also leaves behind hundreds of nieces, nephews and friends that loved him and will miss him forever. The Golz, Snyder, Dundon, Edwards and Truax families were so special to Guy and he considered them part of our family as well.

Guy W. Jefferson was born in Buffalo, New York to George N. Jefferson and Ruth Knab Jefferson. He and Sally were married in 1954. Guy was a diesel mechanic and a truck driver all of his life. He was a very hard worker and never complained. He and Sally moved to Texas in 1978 and lived in Irving, Coppell and Lake Dallas. They moved to the Cedar Creek lake area in 2015 to be closer to family and to enjoy living out of the big cities. Guy loved cars and was an avid fan of Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. If you were in a trivia contest, you would want him on your team. He loved boats and was a big fan of wooden Chris Craft vintage runabouts.

Guy was a friend to all and just wanted to spend time with his family and friends. He rarely complained about anything life dealt him and never met a stranger. He was full of life and deeply loved and cared for by so many.

Please pray for our family as we try to find comfort in our memories of a man that adored everyone of us. If you knew him, you know what it was like to feel special. He was a wonderful Husband, Dad, Brother, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Uncle and Friend that will be missed beyond comprehension.  A memorial will be planned in the future to allow us time to gather our thoughts and honor Guy W. Jefferson as he deserves.
