Gracie Florita Crecy

Gracie Florita Crecy, 76, passed away on March 18, 2021.  She was born on September 15, 1944, in Dallas, Texas, to Bob and Alta Ann Smitty.

She married Hollis Crecy on November 10, 1961.  They owned and operated multiple businesses together, but the appliance business was their main endeavor.  In 1984, they moved to Terrell, Texas, from Pleasant Grove and lived there many years, moving to Mabank, Texas, around 2005.  She was on a bowling league and enjoyed boating, sewing, crocheting, and watching Wheel of Fortune and Westerns.  Gracie was most definitely the matriarch of the family, the glue that held it all together.  She was a Christian woman and loved the Lord.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughter Sharon West of Mabank, Texas; son Jeffrey Crecy of Mabank, Texas; granddaughters Stephanie Gregory and wife Aubry of Gun Barrel City, Texas, and Shannon West of Mabank, Texas; grandson Gary Crecy, Jr. of Scurry, Texas; great-granddaughter Olivia Gregory of Gun Barrel City, Texas; great-grandson Camden Heming of Euless, Texas; brothers Robert Smitty and wife Martha of Emory, Texas, and Bobby Smitty and wife Angie of Point, Texas.

Gracie is preceded in death by her husband Hollis Crecy, son Gary Crecy, parents Bob and Alta Smitty, brothers Charley Ray Smitty, and Granvel (G.E.) Smitty, sister Shirley Ann Sanders.

Pastor Todd Peavy of Victory Church in Scurry, Texas, will officiate for the Crecy family.

Pallbearers are Wesley Bedwell, Gary Crecy, Tony Jackson, Ethan Meyer, Tommy Norman, and Jessie Ross.
