Frank Davis "Dave" Clifton, passed away October 6. 2023, in Gun Barrel City, Texas. He was born on October 12, 1928 in Emory, Texas, to parents John and Geona (Pippin) Clifton.

Dave was born and raised in Texas, where he and his beloved Carol were married on October 18, 1999, in Gun Barrel City, Texas. One of Dave's greatest passions in life was golf.  Beyond golf, Dave had a penchant for storytelling that would captivate anyone within earshot. His tales were filled with humor, wisdom, and vivid descriptions that transported listeners into a world of imagination. The twinkle in his eye and the anticipation in his voice made each story come alive as if you were experiencing it firsthand.

Dave enjoyed spending time in Shreveport, where he would try his luck at craps. Win or lose it was his game, and he loved beating the odds. It is worth noting that Dave had quite an interesting relationship with sports; however, one team he couldn't help but begrudgingly love-hate was the renowned Dallas Cowboys. It appears they held a powerful spell over him – no matter how much they disappointed him or how many times they broke his heart, he remained devoted until the end.

Dave is preceded in death by his parents, John and Geona Clifton, 3 brothers, and daughter Deborah Morrell.

Dave is survived by his wife, Carol Clifton of Gun Barrel City, TX; son, Scott Clifton of Murchison, TX; son-in-law, Bo Morrell of Garland, TX, granddaughter, Ashley Morrell of Garland, TX; daughter, Cindy Hurst and spouse Eddie of Dallas, TX; son, Barry Chandler of Dallas, TX;   daughter, Tracy Fugere of Vernon, FL; daughter, Rhonda Bailey and spouse Bill of Odessa, TX;  son, Don Scott and spouse Shelia of Rincon, GA; son, Wayne Scott of Rincon, GA; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
