Frances Davis

Frances Oleta Hemphill Davis passed away with her family by her side on February 23, 2017 in Tyler, Texas.  She was born May 17, 1935 to Frona M. Turney and Charles Wesley Johnson.  She has three sisters and two brothers that are still with us; Rosemary Congrove, Darlene Williams, Charles Johnson, Robert Johnson and  half-sister, Jo Ann Holt.

She married her soulmate and best friend Earl V. Davis in 1954.  And together they had a beautiful family, two daughters and one son: Sherry Nelson, James Davis, and Carol Rayford.  Frances was truly blessed with 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.  She has many other family members and a host of friends that she greatly loved; Frances will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Frances is preceded in death by her parents, Frona Turney Johnson  and Charles Johnson, Sr., half-brother Gerry Hemphill, a son Robert Charles Davis, grandson Robert Ryan Roark and nephew Barry Glenn Johnson.

Frances spent her career as a hairdresser in Grand Prairie, Texas.  She and her husband retired and moved to the Cedar Creek Lake area in 1995.  Frances became involved in Faith in Action Food Bank in Malakoff, Texas, Lakeview Baptist Church Sunday School class and Caney Creek Baptist Church in Malakoff, Texas.  She has   always enjoyed meeting and helping people throughout her community.  But spending time with her family and friends always brightened her day.

Reverend Allen Hobgood will be officiating for the Davis family.
