Donnie Earl Pickard

Donnie Earl Pickard of Canton, Texas passed away on November 24, 2017. He was born February 19, 1947 in LaFayette, Georgia to John Earl & Bessie Pickard.

Donnie was raised in Clovis New Mexico. He had 7 brothers; Ruel, Gene , Noel , Randal, Sidney, Wayne and Levon , 3 sisters; Earlene, Wanda & Brenda. In Donnie’s spare time he enjoyed camping, working on cars and watching any type or car races. He lived in Roswell, New Mexico for many years. And while he was living there raising his family he built and opened the Roadrunner Karting Speedway for his family and friends to enjoy. Most off all Donnie cherished spending time with his family and friends.

Donnie is survived by a brother; Ruel Pickard, 2 sisters; Wanda Burgess and Brenda Holman, his wife Doris, 6 children; Ricky Truelsen, Michele LaBadie, Charles Pickard, Tammy Dawson, Hancl Carr & his wife Melanie and Bo Pickard, 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Donnie has many other family members and a host of friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John Earl and Bessie. Brothers; Gene, Noel, Randal, Sidney , Wayne and Levon , a sister Earlene Campbell and his daughter Cynthia “Bodie” Pickard.

Bro. Ed Schauer with the Church of The Nazarene in Gun Barrel City, Texas will be officiating for the Pickard family.
