Claudia Vivian Blaylock

February 25, 1929 — December 24, 2019

Claudia Vivian Blaylock, 90, passed away on December 24, 2019.  She was born on February 25, 1929, in Kaufman, Texas, to the home of Claude Amos and Maude Lawana McCarty.

She married Jack Blaylock on July 13, 1946.  She was employed by Sears for approximately 17 years, as well as working at a couple of sewing factories.  Claudia was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Gun Barrel City, Texas, and enjoyed reading her Bible, listening to Christian music, and eating good chocolate.  She played the guitar and fiddle and sang and wrote Christian songs.  Her hobbies included gardening, sewing, quilting, and making ceramics and craft items.  She loved her coffee, cold root beer, and spending time outdoors.  Claudia lived through a lot of hard times but made the best of life.

She is survived by children Larry Blaylock, Maryland Bolin and husband Bobby, and Rhonda Vanover; grandchildren Terri Martin, Denny Hickson, Johnny Brunson, Keith Brunson, Shelly Page, Karri Wesley, Bobby Bolin II, Mindy Markwood, Lane Martin, Nathan Martin, and Kristy Bolin; great-grandchildren Austin, Ashley, Christian, Knoxx, Khane, Haylee, Krista, Cory, Sean, Ethan, Ava, Layla, Kallie, Alexander, Trevor, Jewelie, Skyler, Matthew, Jessica, Brandon, Ashley and one on the way Bethany Vivian; great-great grandchildren Elaina, Tommy, Braden, Adrian, Jaclynn, Jayce, Brayden, and Aubrey.

Claudia is preceded in death by her parents; husband Jack Blaylock, two daughters Claudine Schelmer and Trish Hickson, an infant son Tony Blaylock; granddaughter Jackie Blaylock; and all seven of her brothers.

Reverend Joe Mendez of Liberty Baptist Church in Gun Barrel City, Texas, will officiate for the Blaylock family.
