Chauncey Joseph “C.J.” Mayeaux was born in Alexandria, Louisiana on February 26, 1950 to Dallas J. and Mary “Lucy” Mayeaux. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Joni Lou Mayeaux.  He was devoted to his wife Sara Mayeaux, the love of his life for 46 years of marriage, and all of his four grandchildren:   Allie and Skylar Ducote, and Lindsay and Sophie Warner.  He is also survived by his daughter Shayne Warner and son-in-law Adam Warner of Plano, Texas, and daughter Stormie Ducote Farrow of Ennis, Texas, and many nieces and nephews.

He loved travelling, music, and reading. He was also an avid lover of animals and had three dogs at the time of his passing.  He played the saxophone in his earlier years, and was in several bands. He enjoyed preparing food from his Cajun heritage at family gatherings.

He studied Business at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, and worked in the financial industry for most of his career.  He was also a former member of the Rotary club in Port Arthur, Texas.

He will be missed dearly by all those whose lives he touched.  The family wants to thank the Living Vine Gospel Church for all of their love, kindness, and support throughout this difficult time.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Living Vine Gospel Church of Payne Springs, TX.
