Charlotte Irene McCaffety

Charlotte Irene Hammonds McCaffety, age 74, passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 10, 2026, in the early morning hours in Mabank, Texas. She was born on May 5, 1952, in Dallas, Texas to parents Jim and Agnes Hammonds.

Charlotte was known by her nieces, and others as Aunt Sweetie. Her niece Becky Mollock helped take care of her in her last days and months.

Charlotte had multiple different jobs over the years, her most prominent being a tax professional with H&R Block and privately in her home for many years. She loved to play slots, cards, and board games. She loved Betty Boop. Charlotte also loved to cook and could make you a 4-course meal when you thought you had nothing to eat, lol.

Charlotte is preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Agnes Hammonds; her siblings, Jim Ed, Joyce, Dorothy, and Arlene.

Charlotte is survived by her son, Jamie McCaffety; her grandchildren, Tiffany, Vanessa, and Kerstin; nieces, Rebecca Molock, Nikki Guinn, Rhonda Hunnel, and Jimmy; and nephew, Ronnie Hunnel. Charlotte also left behind her puppy Kiki who she loved dearly.

We want to thank the caregivers at Mabank nursing home for their help and support and the hospice nurses. She loved her family and would do anything for them that she could without question. Rest easy, Charlotte/ momma. You will be missed by many gone but never forgotten.
