Charles Edward Childers

Charles Edward Childers 95 of Kemp, Texas passed away on August 22, 2017 with his love ones at his side. He was born to James Carl Childers and Mamie Lineberger on January 22, 1922 in Ripley, Mississippi. He loved the Lord, reading his bible, family and his friends. His close relationship with God guided him in many places where he made many lifelong friends. Mr. Childers served in the United States Army and was a proud World War II veteran. One cherished moment of his life was visiting the WWII Memorial in Washington D. C.
Those left to remember and cherish his memory is a brother Don Childers and a sister Carlene Croft. Sons Jerry Childers and Charles Childers & his wife Dottie, step-children; Kathy Jenkins & her husband David, Lisa Islas, Donna Cotten & her husband Bobby and Michael Guthrie. What gave him much joy was spending time with any of his 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Charles is preceded in death by 3 sisters, 7 brothers, his first wife Ruth & second wife Lavonne and a daughter Leslie Guthrie.
Pastor Charles Travis a nephew from Florida will be officiating for the Childers family.
