Charles "Craig" Parrish

Charles Craig Parrish, 63, passed away on September 23, 2026 in Tyler, Texas. He was born June 5, 1963 in Kansas City, Missouri to Bill and Shirley Parrish.

Craig worked most of his life in lumber yards in West and East Texas. He seemed to be happiest among stacks of fresh cut wood and with a hammer and nail in his hand.

When writing to Christians in 1 Thessalonians 4, God said and Paul wrote “Make it your goal to live a quiet life, minding your own business and working with your hands…”. Craig loved building things and completing a project made him proud. He built decks, sheds, and even helped his dad build a house from the ground up. He understood the value of working hard and lived out the instructions from Paul in 1 Thessalonians in every way. He never sought attention, never meddled, and made his living working with tools in his hands. He cared for anyone he ever met, and anyone he ever met was better because of it.

As one of his nephews said very simply, “Craig was a good man”. No higher praise could ever be spoken of a man.

He was dearly loved and will be dearly missed.

Craig is preceded in death by his mother and father and his son Michael. 

He is survived by his wife Doris and their children Matt, Charlie, and John and their families, his siblings Carlene, Chris and B.J. and their families.
