Cecile E. Dockins, age 97, of Mabank, Texas, passed away on March 27, 2026. She was born in Lancaster, Texas on October 4, 1928, to parents, William and Maggie (Roberts) King.
Cecile lived a life defined by deep faith, unwavering love, and nurturing care for those around her. Her journey through nearly a century was one marked by a gentle spirit that touched countless lives, and her memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Above all, Cecile cherished her family. She was the heart of every gathering - a beacon of wisdom, warmth, and unconditional love. Her presence brought comfort in times of sorrow, her laughter sparked joy during moments of happiness, and her kindness left an enduring impression on every soul she encountered. To her loved ones, she was more than a homemaker; she was a source of strength and a wellspring of grace.
Faith was the cornerstone of Cecile's life. She loved reading her Bible and drew inspiration and guidance from its pages every day. Her relationship with God shaped her character and illuminated her path, allowing her to bear her life with quiet dignity and steadfast hope. Cecile greatly enjoyed attending any and all church activities, from revivals to women’s workshops and everything in between. This spiritual foundation was not only a personal refuge but also a radiant light she shared generously with her family and community.
Cecile had a tender heart that extended beyond her home to the natural world. Well into her 80s, Cecile was a steadfast volunteer for hospice. She held a special affection for plants, nurturing them with gentle hands and tender care. Whether tending to her garden or caring for houseplants, she found immense peace and happiness in witnessing God's creations thrive under her watchful eye. This nurturing spirit mirrored the love and attention she devoted to her family and friends. Cecile will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Cecile is preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Maggie King; husband, Carl “Buddy” Dockins; son, Billy Wayne Dockins; son, Carl Glenn Dockins, Jr.; grandson, James Carl Dockins; one sister and seven brothers.
Cecile is survived by her daughter, Barbara Reedy and husband David of Mabank, Texas; grandson, Joey Dockins and wife Belinda of Louisiana; grandson, Jerry Dockins of Louisiana; granddaughter, Shannon McNiel and husband Stephen of Mabank, Texas; granddaughter, Melinda Dockins of Mabank, Texas; grandson, Jay Reedy and wife Angela of Mabank, Texas; brother, Melvin King of Van, Texas; daughter-in-law, Brenda Dockins of Mabank, Texas; as well as numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends.
