Bradley Gene McGuire, age 50, of Jacksonville, Texas, passed away on February 27, 2026. Bradley was born on October 9, 1975, in Athens, Texas; to parents Michael and Anita Gail (McClendon) McGuire.
Brad had a love for fishing that many will remember. Those quiet moments by the water provided him with a sense of peace, where he often shared laughter and stories with friends and family. His outgoing personality drew people to him, and he had a way of making everyone feel welcomed and valued.
Education was important to Bradley; he was trained in welding, he worked as a machinist as well as a mechanic, and he attended the Harley Davidson Institute. However, his proudest accomplishments were not tied to his skills alone. He celebrated his remarkable journey of recovery from drugs and alcohol, emerging stronger and more determined than ever. Brad’s faith also played a crucial role in his life, and he enjoyed spending time at Life Recovery Church in Jacksonville.
Brad is preceded in death by his mother, Gail McLendon; grandmother, Josie McLendon; niece, Chloe Ann McGuire; grandparents, Gene and Winnie McGuire; and aunt, Debra Gill.
Brad is survived by his father, Michael McGuire of Moulton, Alabama; brother Keith McGuire of Moulton Alabama; brother Kevin McGuire and wife Jenniffer of Decatur, Alabama; sister, Laura (McGuire) Knight and husband Daniel of Huntsville, Alabama; nephew, Dalton McGuire of Moulton, Alabama; nephew, Hunter McGuire of Huntsville, Alabama; niece, Cortney Russell of Athens, Texas; nephew, Kobe Grimes of Athens, Texas; nieces, Charlie Knight, and Lillian Knight of Huntsville, Alabama; aunt, Connie Fretwell and husband Wendell of Canton, Texas; aunt, Theresa Gilbreath and husband Dee of Quitman, Texas; as well as numerous other family, friends, and loved ones.
