Bobby Ray Splawn

Bobby Ray Splawn of Eustace, Texas passed away on August 26, 2017 in Athens, Texas surrounded by loved ones.  He was born May 22, 1939 in Prairieville, Texas to Samuel Scott & Bertie Odell Jones Splawn.  Bobby grew up in a loving home with 2 sisters; Thelma Moser and Shirley Kirkpatrick.

Bobby attended Kemp High School.  He worked for many years with the City of Dallas, Dallas School Board and Kaufman County.  In 1964 Bobby married his true love Pressley Ann, they were married for 53 years.  Together they had 2 sons; Ricky Irving Splawn & his wife Kimberly and Erick Ray Splawn.  Bobby always loved talking to his 3 grandchildren; Riki Leanne Splawn, Reginald Reese and Meagan Neumann.

In Bobby’s spare time he enjoyed being outside riding & breaking horses, fishing, hunting, cooking and watching western movies.  But mostly Bobby enjoyed spending time with his family and friends talking about the good o’l days.  He always enjoyed helping others and he found happiness when volunteering with the Mabank Fire Department and the Mabank East Texas Riding Club.  He was a great son, father, grandfather and a friend to many.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, a sister Shirley Kirkpatrick and his son Erick Ray Splawn.

Bro. Rick Wyatt with the Phalba Church of Phalba, Texas will be officiating for the Splawn family.
