Bobby Dewey Ward

Bobby D. Ward was born September 11, 1959, to Bobby Ray Ward and Alma Francine Ballow at Wolfe & Duphorne Hospital in Athens, Texas.  Bobby graduated from Canton High in 1979 and worked for Teamster Union 745 for 36 years.  He departed to God’s hands on December 21, 2020.

Bobby was a true born cowboy and hunter.  He loved the outdoors.  Hunting was his passion, not always being legal.  He loved teaching his sons and grandson the art of hunting, the thrill of it, and how to be a good man.  Horses were his second love.  He could and would buy, sell, and trade for that special one.  Family was a priority.  He made sure to help anyone in need and never expected anything in return.  Bobby and Tina married in 1994, joining their families together.

He is preceded in death by his mother Alma Francine Ward; paternal grandparents Arthur and Velma Ward; maternal grandparents Wilford and Myrtle Ballow; uncles Leon Ballow and Donald Ward.

He is survived by his wife Tina Ward of Mabank; children Justin and April Ward of Athens, Jarrod and Anna Ward of Mabank, Chris Martin and Robert Vaughn of Athens, and Stacey Martin of Crossroads; grandchildren Presley, Brooklynn, Braxton, Paisley, Westi, and Riggin Ward, Ayden Cowart and Ashlee Smith; father Bobby Ray and Alma Gaye Ward of Mabank; sisters Julie and Eric Bliss of Canton, Lesa Grimes of Canton, and Debbie and Dewayne Rosemond of Canton.

Bobby was a great friend, dad, and husband; he will be missed by all who knew him.
