Bobby Lewis

May 16, 1932 — November 4, 2025

Mabank, Texas

Bobby Earl Lewis, born on May 16, 1932, in Malakoff, Texas to John and Royal (Barnett) Lewis, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2025, surrounded by love.

Bobby attended Forest High School in Dallas, Texas, and in 1951, Bobby married the love of his life, Joyce Lee (Chaney) Lewis. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised seven children.

Bobby started his working life as a brick mason. He worked for many years as a contractor for Corrigan Properties in Dallas. Later, he became a hardworking farmer whose dedication and passion for the land were unmatched. He had a true green thumb — growing everything from tomatoes and watermelons to peaches and his well-known “Bobby Lewis” onions. He took great pride in his work and shared the fruits of his labor generously with friends and neighbors.

Known for his kindness, humor, and friendship, Bobby never met a stranger. He lived his life to the fullest and left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Bobby is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joyce Lee (Chaney) Lewis; daughter, Lisa Kay Sherlock; son, Bobby Earl Lewis Jr.; parents, John and Royal (Barnett) Lewis; and brother, Jack Lewis.

Bobby is survived by his loving children: Brenda Handley, Debra Lewis, Pamela Church, Linda Oehlschlager, and Billy Lewis. He also leaves behind cherished grandchildren David McPherson Wife Winnie , Brian Easterly Wife Julie, Brad Lewis, Dana Foster, Garret Oehlschlager Wife Autumn, Dominick Sherlock Wife Lacy, and Charlie Oehlschlager; great-grandchildren Justin McPherson, Delaney McPherson, Ava Easterly, Emmy Easterly, Tucker Easterly, Montana Carroll (Lonnie), Easton Foster, Bowen Sherlock, and Caden Sherlock, Adler Evan Oehlschlager; and great-great-grandchildren Tatum McPherson, Brittany McPherson, Wyoming Carroll, and Kansas Carroll.

The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support during this time. Bobby’s legacy of hard work, love, and laughter will continue to live on in all who knew him.
