Billy Ray Carpenter

January 16, 1946 — October 27, 2018

Billy Ray Carpenter of Mabank was born on January 16, 1946 in Coryell City, Texas and passed away in Palestine, Texas on October 27, 2018.  Left behind to cherish his memory is the love of his life and wife of 53 Lula Charline, his son Bryan Carpenter and wife Jackie of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, daughter Vanessa and husband Tim of Temple, Texas, and daughter Alisa (Lisa) Knight of Arlington, Texas.

Billy also leaves behind seven grandchildren, Matt, Ben and Cathy Stallard, Roddy, Shawn, and Jordyn Carpenter, and Bethanie Knight.  Billy spent his early years on his Grandparents farm outside Gatesville, Texas where he attended elementary school.  In his later years his family moved to Fort Worth where Billy enjoyed playing football at Fort Worth Trimble Tech High School.  After High School Billy went to work for LTV Vought in Grand Prairie where he worked and retired after 32 years of service.  Billy joined the Masonic Lodge # 734 where he was a Past Master of Roddy Masonic lodge.

Billy enjoyed working on antique cars in his retired years.  He first purchased and restored a 1955 Chevy Bel Air which he took to car shows and won many awards.  Later He purchased and showed a 1931 Model A Ford roadster and 1931 Ford Model A sedan that he loved. Billy and Lou where active in the Cedar Creek Ford  Model A club and attended many Model A events throughout Texas. He was a good husband, dad, and papaw. Papaw will be loved and missed but never forgotten.
