Billie Rhea Jennings

February 18, 1936 — June 8, 2022

Today we are honoring, celebrating, and remembering Billie Rhea Jennings.  Billie Rhea was born in Rhea, Oklahoma, on February 18, 1936, to Grace Elizabeth and Woodrow Greenhaw.  Billie passed away on June 8, 2022.

On September 30, 1953, she married the love of her life, David Jennings. She worked for Mabank Independent School District for 29 years.  When she wasn’t working, she loved being with her family.  She loved taking road trips with her daughters. Billie was a faithful member, for 25 years, of Lakeview Assembly of God in Seven Points, Texas.  She was a woman of grace and courage, with a stubborn streak that showed up when she set her mind to something. Her love and kindness were infused in everything she did. She had a magical way of bringing joy every time she walked into the room.  No one who met her could forget her smile.  Billie Rhea will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years David Jennings; sister Beverly Leathers; children Connie & Dan Yates of Scurry, Texas, Rhonda & Michael Yates of Scurry, Texas, Jonia & Meredith Potts of Sherman, Texas, and David & Alyson Jennings of Tyler, Texas; grandchildren Danny Yates, James Michael Coulter, Amanda Drake, Jeremy Koonce, Candace Jones, Benjamin Roberts, and Aiden Jennings; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Grace Elizabeth and Woodrow Greenhaw; brothers Hank & JC Hale and Woodrow Greenhaw; sisters Lola Moore, Maxine Boren, Mozel Willminy and Tena Mohlar; and great-grandson Dylan Yates.
