Mom was always the strongest person in our lives.  We always knew if we could get to mom, mom would fix everything.  She’ll make things good again.  Her favorite pieces of advice were do the right things, don’t worry, everything’s gonna be ok, it’ll all work out.  Always on an even keel, always patient, never too excited and never too angry or upset made for a very happy home.  A home she always filled with love.

Dad saw a girl with a big red bow in her hair in a movie theater in Wolfe City, Texas on New Years in 1950.  He said he had to go see who she was.  They met and 3 years later they were married on June 20, 1953 and just celebrated 65 years of marriage and 68 total years together.

Mom was an excellent wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great – grandmother.  Above all these she was a truly great Christian lady.  A member of Beacon Church of Christ in Gun Barrel City, Texas.  She never wavered from her love for God.  She loved all her brothers and sisters in Christ she met throughout the years.  Especially her family at Beacon.  She loved to walk the auditorium to hug and talk to everyone she could.

We’re so thankful for all the prayers and condolences from the church and all our family and friends on mom’s behalf the last 3 years.  We’re extremely thankful for all the love and care mom received from the wonderful team at Caring Hearts Hospice of Gun Barrel City, Texas.  Nurses Kay Williams, Donna Smith; aide Rita Wrenn; social worker Sherilyn Turner.  We thank you so much.  Mom’s private care taker Erica Tidwell, we’re so grateful for making each day as pleasant as possible for mom.  Thanks to all who knew and loved mom.

Bro. Ken Maddox with the Beacon Church of Christ in Gun Barrel City, Texas will be officiating for the Maples family.

Pallbearers ~ Thomas Coggeshall Jr., Tom Coggeshall, Rocky Tiffee, James Bivens, Jeff Baum & David Putman
