Arlene Dawdy

Melvia Arlene Starr-Dawdy was born on October 7, 1941, in Ennis, Texas; to parents Ulric and Lurlene Starr. She passed away on June 27, 2025 at the age of 83, in Gun Barrel City, Texas.

Arlene was an active member of church, a very devoted Christian. She was full of love and cherished her family. 

Arlene is preceded in death by, her father, Ulric Starr; mother, Lurlene Daniels; daughter, Patricia Saxon; sons, Arthur Wright Neugin; and Eugene Neugin; late husbands, Carl Neugin and James Dawdy.

Arlene is survived by her daughter, Patsy Jordan and husband Glen of Gun Barrel City, Texas; daughter, Carla Newton of Crandall, Texas;  brother, Jerry Starr of Forney, Texas; sister, Joyce Gray of Seven Points, Texas; brother, Alvin Starr and wife Pam of Post Oak Bend, Texas; sister, Louise Starr Berry and husband Bob of Scurry, Texas; brother, Clifford of Peeltown, Texas; brother, Kenneth Daniels and wife Bernice of Peeltown, Texas, as well as numerous family, friends, and loved ones.
